The ‘Demerstrand’ in Diepenbeek is not only there for all athletes - you can play tennis, football, jog, skate and much more - there is even a playground dedicated to water! You can relax around the playground and have a picnic in the grass or at one of the picnic tables. In the birth forest just across from the Demer, children can play in the play forest.
What is there to do?
Non-stop sports
Numerous sports are covered here: tennis, football, petanque and indoor sports. You can run on the Finnish slopes or try out your skating skills in the skating rink. Walk all the way to the beautiful playground, where you can also find welcoming picnic tables.
Play forest
On the other side of the Demer lies the play forest, where both young and old can enjoy themselves in, and with, nature.
Mobile home parking
There is a dedicated mobile home park with 10 pitches. You pay € 8 per 24 hours. This includes water, electricity and sewage disposal.
Hiking
From the ‘Demerstrand’ reception point, you can visit the beautiful ‘Dauteweyers’ nature reserve. The hiking area is still under development, but will be opened in the course of 2018. You can also walk across the ‘De Dyken’ area, where the Caatsbeek and the Demer flow together.
