What could be moredelightful than finding a lovely spot in the sun with a picnic hamper filled to the brim that you can enjoy together with family or friends. There are several original spots in the ‘Wijers’ where you can have your picnic:

Kelchterhoef

Kelchterhoef, a wonderful location with breath-taking picnic spots! Why not take a seat on the comforting tree bench or lunch on the water, between the reeds on the picnic island. You will have to wade through the pond to get there. If you’d rather stay dry, choose one of the five colourful plastic sofas or lie down on the grass beside the pond.
Order your richly filled picnic hamper with delicious products in advance. All you need to do is bring good friends and a picnic blanket.

Kiewit

Scattered all over the estate are dozens of perfect spots for a picnic. Spread your own picnic blanket on the tender grass or use one of the many picnic tables.

Hengelhoef

You can have your picnic and a drink in peace and quiet at the welcoming visitors’ centre of nature association Limburgs Landschap vzw. Visitors’ centre Hengelhoef of Limburgs Landschap vzw is open during hikes and activities between 1.30 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. (between 1/11 and 20/3).
Between April and October, it is also open on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sunday afternoons, each time from 1.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. In July and August, it is also open on Tuesday afternoons.

Wild and hiking park Molenheide

Come up real close to the deer while taking in the smell of pine needles. In the 100-ha hiking park, you can enjoy nature and a picnic in the designated places.

Molenvijver park & Slagmolen

Why not have a picnic in an original and stunning setting! A few exquisite spots were transformed into 'Camp Carré': picnic spots that focus on nature, slow time and social contacts. Here, you can have a nice BBQ in group at a design picnic table. Park Den Dijk

After a fun witch hunt with Lotje, you can have a picnic in the idyllic Den Dijk Park in the designated places.

There are several picnicking spots here: besides the open classroom or sheltered seating area, there are also benches and picnic tables alongside the gardens and playground.
